Aims

This course provides a rigorous introduction to the study of politics, exploring key concepts, ideologies, theoretical frameworks, and the institutional structures of major political systems. It examines international relations and equips students to critically analyse pressing global issues. It also helps students to equip themselves with the tools to analyse politics in mainland China and Hong Kong. This course offers essential tools for understanding complex political landscapes, serving as a strong foundation for further study or professional endeavours in the field.

Learning support

There will be 12 two-hour tutorials and two two-hour supplementary lectures.

Assessment

There will be five assignments and a final examination. Students are required to submit assignments via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).
