You are advised to have already studied ECON A231 and ECON A232, or ECON A231C and ECON A232C.

Aims
This course aims to provide students with the framework to analyse the economic behaviour of individuals in the business and public sectors, including the behaviour of firms under different market structures.

Contents
The course covers the following topics:

  • Theories of consumption and production
  • Theories of various market structures
  • Market failure and the roles of government

Learning support
There will be regular tutorials.

Assessment
There are two assignments and a final examination. Students are required to submit assignments via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).
