Happenings

Held on 7–9 Nov, the Asia Information Retrieval Societies Conference (AIRS) aims to bring together researchers and developers working in the field of information retrieval (IR) to present new research results, exchange new ideas and demonstrate new systems.


From first initiating the voluntary 'Wu Zhi Qiao' (Bridge to China) projects to recently rebuilding the home of an earthquake-stricken senior couple, Prof. Ng has helped many improve their living conditions over the past decade. He will share his experience on 8 Nov (Fri).

Renowned Cantonese opera musician Mr Chu Hing-cheung, along with Mr Wong Sing-chuen, Mr Wong Sing-kwan and a small ensemble, will return on 9 Nov (Sat) to give a demonstration-seminar on the traditions and execution of the art.

Will spousal impoverishment protection in Medicaid crowd out private long-term care insurance? On 13 Dec (Fri), Dr Sun Wei from the Hanqing Advanced Institute of Economics and Finance of Renmin University of China will share his research findings.
