The third lecture of the Talk of the Metropolis, featuring Mr Lancaster, will be premiered on 6 February.

To tie in with the significant milestone of university retitling, the University has launched a brand new public lecture series called the Talk of the Metropolis, inviting Government officials, leaders, scholars and experts in different professions to share expertise and experiences on issues of concern to Hong Kong as a world city. All talks will be available for viewing on the University website and broadcast in the Knowledge for All programme aired on TVB Pearl every Sunday morning.

The Honourable Mrs Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Chief Executive of the HKSAR, was invited to speak at the very first talk to share insights into Hong Kong's long-term development and opportunities on 10 September 2021, while the Honourable Paul Chan Mo-po, Financial Secretary of the HKSAR, was the second speaker on 19 October. He made an in-depth analysis of Hong Kong's current economic situation and talked about the future opportunities and challenges for the economy. He also met with the students after the talk. The third talk, on 22 November, featured Chief Executive Officer of CLP Holdings Mr Richard Lancaster, who spoke on the electric power industry's 30-year Race to Zero, especially CLP's decarbonization plans.
