New programmes in collaboration with industries

HKMU has been keeping abreast of the development of various industries and actively developing professional programmes to meet market demand for talents. Becoming Hong Kong's first university of applied sciences in March last year, the University has further strengthened its communication with the industries and collaborated with them in launching a number of new programmes.

p25e Master of Professional Management in Hotel Business

The programme enables students to have a comprehensive understanding of hotel management, including leadership and talent management, revenue management, and ESG investing and reporting. Through theoretical and practical coursework, students would develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills essential to thrive in the hotel industry.

p25f Bachelor of Applied Science in Gemmology and Jewellery Studies

The University has signed a Memorandum of Intent with the Asia Gemmological Institute and Laboratory to collaboratively promote the development of the gemstone industry in Hong Kong in education and training, testing and certification, research, and industry advancement, and to launch Hong Kong's first applied degree programme in gemmology and jewellery studies. The programme enables students to gain valuable working experience, and keep abreast of the latest technologies and professional knowledge through industry engagement and internships.

The programme aims to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in key aspects of real estate and surveying. Students would become aware of the latest technologies and management skills in the industry, and be well-prepared to face challenges in the dynamic environment.
