Excellence in real estate and facilities management studies

Lam Wang-tsung, a fresh graduate from the Bachelor of Business Administration with Honours in Real Estate and Facilities Management programme, received the Best Student Award from the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Asian Pacific Branch in recognition of his outstanding academic performance.

Alumnus's animated work wins another Golden Horse Award

Isaac Shek Ka-chun, a graduate of the Animation and Visual Effects programme, once again snatched the Best Animated Short Film at the 61st Golden Horse Awards. Inspired by the director's childhood experience with his father, the winning work, Father Figure, depicts the memories and relationship between the protagonist son and his imprisoned father. Previously, Isaac and other two Animation and Visual Effects graduates won the Best Animated Short Film at the 54th Golden Horse Awards for the first time with their graduation project.

HKMU entrepreneurs selected for Housing Authority start-up programme

To encourage and support young people in pursuing their entrepreneurial dreams, the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) launched the Well Being Start-Up programme, which offers shop premises in shopping centres under the HA for shortlisted young entrepreneurs to trial their business plans rent-free for seven months. Among the 180 applications, two brands run by HKMU alumni and students were selected: Wind.n.Sand, founded by Testing and Certification graduate Charlotte Wong Ka-man, and GreenBox Technology, run by Public Administration graduate Eric Wong Yiuhong and Ageing Society and Services Studies student Coco Chan Chui-ying.

Distinguished alumni receive several accolades

Hong Kong's only female ice-climbing athlete and HKMU nursing graduate Janet Kung Tsz-shan was named one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) in the Ten Outstanding Young Persons Selection 2024 organised by the Junior Chamber International Hong Kong, in recognition of her achievements in ice climbing and other sports.

Meanwhile, she and another nursing graduate, Queenie Kwan Ching-man, were named Hong Kong Professional Elite Ladies in a selection organised by the Junior Chamber International City Lady, to honour their contributions and excellence in sports and professional nursing areas respectively.

Flying colours at USFHK Aquatic Meet

HKMU swimmers competed in the 2024–25 Annual Aquatic Meet organised by the University Sports Federation of Hong Kong, China (USFHK) and came through with flying colours. In individual events, Tsang Pak-ho was the champion in the Boys' 50m Freestyle and the first runner-up in the Boys' 50m Butterfly, while Phoebe Cheuk Yuet-ying was the second runner-up in both the Girls' 50m Freestyle and the Girls' 50m Breaststroke.

In the team contests, Phoebe Cheuk and Tsang Pak-ho joined another two members, Ma Wing-sum and Blue Wong Hoi-nam, and took home the championship in the Mixed 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay.
