New management structure reinvents the leadership landscape

In April, the University announced the reappointment of President Prof. Paul Lam Kwan-sing, and in June a new management structure and the appointment of Vice-Presidents, with a view to further enhancing the University’s planning and management capabilities in line with its strategic development.

President

After comprehensive consideration, discussion and extensive consultation with various stakeholders, the Council approved the reappointment of President Prof. Paul Lam Kwan-sing, who took office in 2021. His new term will take effect on 1 April 2025 for a period of four years.

Provost

The incumbent, Prof. Reggie Kwan Ching-ping, continues to serve as the Provost.

Senior Advisor to President

Former Vice President (Resources and Development) Prof. Lui Yu-hon assumes the role of Senior Advisor to President. He continues to oversee the development of the new campus, student accommodation and other projects until his retirement in early 2025.

Vice President (Strategic Initiatives)

This newly established position is held by Prof. Alan Au Kai-ming, former Dean of the Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration. He provides leadership in the areas of mainland China and international affairs, planning and analysis, and new initiatives (including the University of Applied Sciences), as well as oversees the operations of relevant subsidiaries of the University.

(Research and Institutional Advancement)

Prof. Ricky Kwok Yu-kwong, formerly Vice President (Research and Student Development), is retitled Vice President (Research and Institutional Advancement). He provides leadership for the advancement of learning and teaching, development and alumni affairs, public affairs, research affairs and knowledge transfer, and student affairs.

Vice President
(Administration and Corporate Development)

The position of Vice President (Resources and Development) is retitled Vice President (Administration and Corporate Development), and is taken up by Prof. Charles Kwong Che-leung, former Dean of the School of Arts and Social Sciences. He is responsible for overseeing facilities management, finance, human resources, information technology and the University's library affairs.
