You are advised to have already studied MGT B240.

Aims
This course aims to provide learners with a theoretical framework and related course concepts for the study of organization strategy and effectiveness, organizational structure and design, as well as the relationship of the organizations vis-a-vis the external and international environment.

Contents
The course covers the following topics:

  • Organizations and organizational theory

  • Strategy, organization effectiveness, structure and design

  • External environment and inter-organizational relationships

  • Designing organizations for the international environment

Learning support
There will be five two-hour tutorials.

Assessment
There are two assignments and one examination. Students must use word processing software (such as Microsoft Word) to prepare the assignments, and submit the assignments via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).
