Aims
This course aims to develop students' knowledge of leadership and of the changing contextual factors influencing educational organizations, and to help them apply these knowledge in developing their professional thinking and practice in educational leadership.

Contents
The course covers the following topics:

  • Leadership theories and values
  • Strategic leadership and managing change
  • Leadership in context
  • Partnership and collaboration

In addition to the topics above, educational leadership in the context of Hong Kong will also be touched on.

Learning support
This course involves 600 study hours. There will be 12 two-hour tutorials, two three-hour day schools, and two 'surgeries' for individual consultation.

Assessment
There are four assignments (including a project) and a course-end examination. Except for some designated assignments, students are required to submit assignments via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).
