Aims
This course aims to enhance students' ability to comprehend business from a strategic perspective. It provides the fundamental theoretical knowledge and practical skills in strategy and leadership that accountants need to make quality decisions for developing sustainable competitive advantage for their organizations.
Contents
The course covers the following topics:
- Core concepts and analytical framework
- Analysing the external environment
- Analysing the internal environment
- Business, corporate and global strategies
- Developing and evaluating strategies
- Strategic implementation
- Leadership and strategy

Normally two to three hours per week.
Assessment
The continuous assessment portion of the course accounts for 100% of the total course score. CPA Australia's Strategic Management Accounting subject examination is counted towards 30% of the continuous assessment. Students are required to submit assignments via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).
