You are advised to have completed SCI S102, SCI S112 or SCI S122.

Aims
Students will be introduced to principles of environmental health and safety. More importantly, local principles practices on how to design, control, implement and manage EHS risks will be addressed.

Contents
The course covers the following areas:

  • Principles of environmental health and safety management
  • Evaluation and assessment of environmental health and safety impacts
  • Management and control of environmental health and safety
  • Policies, legislations and regulations with regard to environmental health and safety
  • Monitoring and audit of EHS

Learning support
Examples of learning support include face-to-face tutorials, surgeries and day schools.

Assessment
There are two assignments and a final examination. Both assignments will count towards the overall continuous assignment score, which counts for 50% of the overall course score. The other 50% of overall course score will be made up by the examination score. Students are required to submit all assignments via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).
