Aims
This course aims to provide learners with a solid base of financial knowledge and theories for a corporation so that they can use financial information to make business decisions.

Contents
The course covers the following topics:

  • Scope and concepts of financial management
  • Valuation and risk
  • Capital budgeting
  • Long-term financing
  • Working capital management

Learning support
There will be five two-hour tutorials and one two-hour surgery.

Assessment
There are two assignments and one examination. Students must use word processing software (such as Microsoft Word) to prepare the assignments, and submit the assignments via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).
