Aims
This course aims to enhance students' ability to comprehend management from a strategic perspective. It provides fundamental theoretical knowledge and practical skills in strategy and management that practitioners need to make quality decisions for developing sustainable competitive advantage for their organizations.

Contents
The course covers the following topics:

  • Introduction to strategy and strategic management
  • External environmental analysis
  • Internal environmental analysis
  • Competitive advantage and levels of strategy
  • Strategy in the global environment
  • Innovation and entrepreneurial strategies
  • Corporate governance issues: Stakeholders, business ethics and corporate social responsibility
  • Strategic leadership
  • Organizing and controlling
  • Managing strategic change

Learning support
There will be seven three-hour tutorials and one six-hour day school.

Assessment
There are two assignments and one examination. Students must use Microsoft Word to prepare the assignments and submit the assignments via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).

Equipment
Students will need access to a personal computer with an Internet connection.
