Aims

Our students' appreciation and embrace of the University's core values are indispensable to the values' preservation and vitality. In order to nurture students with the four University's core values, a revised, concise and credit-bearing version of the current online learning package (comprised of four courses: UNI A001BW, UNI A002BW, UNI A003BW and UNI A004BW) has been developed. The course will run for 80 hours in total with approximately 20 hours per topic/value. Aside from introducing the academic/philosophical underpinnings (incorporating both Chinese and Western perspectives) of the four University's core values, the course will also employ a wide array of real-life cases/scenarios to illustrate their relevancy to our daily lives.

Learning support

Web-based video seminars, each lasting from 30 to 45 minutes, have been uploaded to the University's specifically created Online Learning Environment (OLE). Students may access the videos anytime when they are ready to do so.

Students can also use the OLE which contains selected and recommended readings, hyperlinks to useful websites and other relevant resources. The online Discussion Board also offers an additional means for students to communicate with each other and to interact with the instructors.

Assessment

Upon completing the viewing of the web-based seminar videos and reading of the textual materials, students are required to answer a set of reflective questions, which carries the essence of all the four topics. This assignment assesses all the learning outcomes.

Online requirement

All assessment activities are to be carried out on the OLE platform.
