Regulations for the Certificate in Law Enforcement and Security Management
These regulations are made under paragraphs 1 to 4 of the Regulations for the Award of Sub-degree Qualifications (Sub-degrees).

In these regulations definitions shall apply as in the Regulations for the Award of Sub-degree Qualifications and in the Interpretation Section of the Academic Rules and Regulations.

Certificate in Law Enforcement and Security Management (CLESM)
1. To be eligible for the award of the Certificate in Law Enforcement and Security Management, a student shall:
  a) comply with the Regulations for Admission, Registration and Maintenance of Status; and
  b) comply with the Regulations for the Award of Sub-degree Qualifications (Sub-degrees); and
  c) obtain at least 30 credits in courses prescribed by the regulations.
2. For the Certificate in Law Enforcement and Security Management, the University has prescribed that a student must:
  a) successfully complete 10 credits from courses labelled CC in Table 1 (i.e. LESM A201 or LESM A204); and
  b) successfully complete 10 credits from courses labelled CCLE in Table 1, (i.e. LESM A202 or LESM A203); and
  c) successfully complete additional 10 credits from any courses in Table 1.

Notes:

  1. Courses form excluded combinations with other courses. Only one of the courses of the excluded combinations can count towards an OUHK award. Students should refer to the list of excluded combinations for details.
     
  2. Students who have successfully completed ENGL A100 are deemed to have satisfied the requirement of ENGL A101.
     
  3. Credits gained from the completion of courses at pre-foundation level or above in the Certificate can count towards the requirements for the higher awards of the Diploma and Higher Diploma in Law Enforcement and Security Management through articulation of qualifications.
     
  4. Credits gained from the completion of courses at foundation level or above can count towards the requirements for the higher awards of Bachelor of Social Sciences and Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Law Enforcement and Security Management through articulation of qualifications.
     
  5. Courses no longer available.
     
  6. SOSC A111C has been replaced by SOSC A121C and SOSC A122C. Students who have successfully completed SOSC A111C will be deemed to have satisfied the requirements of SOSC A121C and SOSC A122C.
