Regulations for the Postgraduate Certificates in Adult Education/Chinese Language Education/Drama Education/Educational Management/Child Development/Curriculum and Assessment/Language and Learning/English Language and Language Learning in the Contemporary World/Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages/English Studies for Language Teaching/Chinese Studies for Language Teaching/Liberal Studies Education


1. General
1.1
These regulations are made under paragraphs 1 to 4 of the Regulations for the Award of Postgraduate Diplomas and Certificates.
1.2
In these regulations definitions shall apply as in the Regulations for the Award of Postgraduate Certificates and in the Interpretation Section of the Academic Rules and Regulations.
1.3 The Regulations Governing the Articulation of Qualifications shall apply for the articulation of the above Postgraduate Certificates to the award of Master of Education/Master of Education in Chinese Language Education/Master of Education in English Language Education/Master of Education in Liberal Studies Education/Master of Education in Drama and Language Education/Master of Education in Professional Issues in Liberal Studies as appropriate.
 
2.
Entry Requirements
2.1
To enter the above Postgraduate Certificate programmes, a student shall normally possess:
  2.1.1
a recognized Bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent);
 
and shall normally possess:
  2.1.2 a recognized teacher’s qualification; and
  2.1.3
at least two years’ teaching or training experience.
 
3.
Postgraduate Certificates
3.1
To be eligible for the award of the above Postgraduate Certificates, a student shall:
 
3.1.1
comply with the Regulations for Admission, Registration and Maintenance of Status; and
 
3.1.2
comply with the Regulations for the Award of Postgraduate Certificates; and
 
3.1.3
have been deemed to satisfy in full the specified pre-entry requirements for the programme of study; and
 
3.1.4
obtain at least 20 credits in courses at Postgraduate level prescribed by the regulations.
3.2
For each specified Postgraduate Certificate, the University has prescribed that a student must obtain 20 credits from the specified course in Table 1.

Notes:

  1. Courses form excluded combinations with other courses. Only one of the courses of the excluded combinations can count towards an OUHK award. Students should refer to the list of excluded combinations for details.
     
  2. Courses no longer available.
     
  3. EDU E809 has been replaced by EDU E819. If students have successfully completed EDU E809, they are deemed to have satisfied the requirements of EDU E819.
     
  4. EDU E813 has been replaced by EDU E823. If students have successfully completed EDU E813, they are deemed to have satisfied the requirements of EDU E823.
     
  5. EDU E817 has been replaced by EDU E846. If students have successfully completed EDU E817, they are deemed to have satisfied the requirements of EDU E846.
     
  6. The course code of ENGL E810 has been revised as ENGL E810F. If students have successful completed ENGL E810, they are deemed to have satisfied the requirements of ENGL E810F.
     
  7. The course code of CHIN E811C has been revised as CHIN E811CF. If students have successful completed CHIN E811C, they are deemed to have satisfied the requirements of CHIN E811CF.
     
  8. EDU E815 has been replaced by EDU E825. If students have successfully completed EDU E815, they are deemed to have satisfied the requirements of EDU E825.
