The Unit also develops educational technologies according to specific academic requirements. The eTool for Final Year Projects is one example. Functions of this eTool include:

• Allowing students to indicate their FYP topic choices and enter information about themselves (e.g. skills, interests, academic background).
• Providing a summary for project supervisors to consider.
• Allowing students to check their results easily after the supervisors have entered their decisions in the eTool.
• Allowing supervisors to generate and publish monthly presentation timetables.  
• Allowing students to fill in their progress reports online, and supervisors to give comments and grades to students after their presentations.

As a result, the eTool not only lightens the burden of supervisors, but also smooths the workflow between supervisors and students.
