Award-winning Cantonese opera brought on stage

Chow Kit-ping (Left)

BA (Hons) in Chinese Humanities 2006

Alumna Chow Kit-ping has been passionate about literature since a young age and had dreamt of being a playwright of Cantonese opera. To pursue this dream, Kit-ping enrolled in the Chinese Humanities degree programme at the OUHK to enhance her literary touch. Upon completion of her studies, Kit-ping has created various Cantonese opera scripts. Her rendition of 'Du Shiniang', winning the Cantonese Opera Development Fund’s New Cantonese Opera Play Scriptwriting Competition Outstanding Script Award in 2016, would be brought to stage performance by Ling Lung Cantonese Opera Troupe on 14 and 15 January at the Kwai Tsing Theatre.
