HKMU staff and students have been helping the community overcome the toughest time of the pandemic in different capacities, which include performing N95 respirator fit tests for frontline workers, supporting vaccination for children and the elderly, setting up a support centre for the Hospital Authority's Covid-19 hotline, and running online summer classes for primary and secondary school students.

Through providing various activities, benefits, services and communication channels, the Alumni Affairs Unit is committed to developing a connected alumni community. In future, we'll continue our efforts to strengthen ties with our alumni and rally support for the University, and together we'll scale new heights.

Secretary for Innovation and Technology Mr Alfred Sit visited HKMU to learn about the University's recent research achievements, and exchanged views on innovation and technology development with our senior management and researchers. (12 April)

Riding at full gallop on the career battlefield

The career development of Jojo Wong Yin-ting, a graduate of the BBA in Marketing programme, is inseparable from her relationship with horses. She is a Level 2 National Coach in Olympic Disciplines of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) – one of the only two persons holding this qualification in Greater China. Having worked in riding training and equestrian therapy for years, Jojo started building her business in the equine industry in recent years, blazing new trails as she took hold of new opportunities.

President Prof. Paul Lam talked about the University's future directions at the online Town Hall Meeting held on 1 April, highlighting the recruitment of world-class scholars, support for scholarly activities, strategic research areas and additional spaces in NEO Tower, Kwun Tong for administrative use.

The University has been receiving various support from the community for its anti-epidemic efforts. Apart from 50,000 COVID-19 rapid antigen test kits donated by Bamboos Health Care Holdings Limited, the University also received over 160,000 face masks, 10,000 protective gloves and 4,000 COVID-19 rapid antigen test kits from the Youth of Guangzhou and Hong Kong Association.

Rediscover Your Alma Mater

With the fifth wave of the pandemic has been gradually subsiding, the University has also resumed its service to students, alumni and visitors.

The Information Centre currently located on G/F of the Main Campus has been providing enquiry services to both students and visitors since its first introduction in 1996. By then it was called the Students and Visitors Information Centre, equipping with a touch-screen computer and playing videos to furnish visitors with information of the Open Learning Institute.

Later, it had been relocated to the Courtyard (the current location of MU Café) with a self-help area open 24 hours a day.
