Alumni Events and Activities Embracing Golden Fall: Alumni Homecoming Dinner 2024

In celebration of HKMU's 35th Anniversary and the Mid-Autumn Festival with our alumni, Development and Alumni Affairs Office (DAAO) organised the Embracing Golden Fall: Alumni Homecoming Dinner 2024. This event took place on the Ho Man Tin campus on 12 September 2024 (Thursday) and was attended by approximately 100 alumni from various generations. The event aimed to strengthen the connection between the alumni and their alma mater, with a special invitation extended to those who graduated in years ending with “4” or “9”.

In a collaborative effort with the School of Science and Technology, DAAO arranged a guided tour of the new Medical Science Laboratory for the alumni prior to the dinner, which attracted around 50 alumni.

The dinner began with opening remarks from President Professor Paul Lam and Vice President (Research and Institutional Advancement) Professor Ricky Kwok. They took the opportunity to review the University’s achievements and share recent developments and future plans of the University with the alumni.

Following their addresses, a toasting session was held. Invited to this session were President Professor Paul Lam, Provost Professor Reggie Kwan, Vice President (Research and Institutional Advancement) Professor Ricky Kwok, Vice President (Administration and Corporate Development) Professor Charles Kwong, President of Hong Kong Metropolitan University Alumni Association (HKMUAA) Mr Jet Chou, Director of Development and Alumni Affairs Ms Zenobia Chia and Deans and representatives of Schools.

The dinner officially began after the toasting session. Mr Jet Chou, the newly elected President of HKMUAA, delivered his inaugural speech in Hong Kong, encouraging alumni to actively engage in alumni activities and support their alma mater through various means. To enhance the festive atmosphere of the homecoming dinner, a lucky draw and a photo booth were arranged for the alumni.

As the University continues to progress, HKMU is committed to fostering a dynamic community that supports the University’s mission of delivering quality and excellence in education.
