This 4-year translation degree programme aims to enable students to learn a range of language phenomena and translation skills, and prepare them for career development as well as academic enrichment. This major offers a variety of courses designed to expand students' intellectual horizons on top of enhancing their language ability that are needed for cross-cultural communication to meet the modern needs of globalisation. The Language Studies and Translation programme combines various language systems of English such as sound, word, grammar, meaning and usage, as well as encompasses practical skills in dealing with the cultural dimension of translation.
Furthermore, courses from our translation degree accounts for the differences between the English and Chinese languages and handling translated texts in specialized areas, including law, business, public administration and media.
