RIDCH Symposium 2017 – “Culture and the Humanities in the Digital Age”
The increasing use of digital technology has created new possibilities and challenges for our society's development and artistic and cultural productions. This symposium aims to promote interest, research and interaction among academics on the latest development of culture and the Humanities in the Digital Age. It will also serve as a platform for discussions to explore the changes that digitalization has brought to the discipline of art, film, theatre, literature, education, media studies, cultural studies and sociology.
We welcome abstract submissions and proposals that inquire into digital culture and humanities from a variety of perspectives including, but not limited to, the following:
- The Logic of Selection in the Digital Age
- Digital Needs of Civic Society
- Digital Literacy
- Corpus Linguistics
- Teaching in the Digital Era
- The teaching and reading of English literature in the Digital Age
Abstract Submission
The abstracts should serve as a summary of the presented paper and should be no more than 500 words long. Please submit your abstract to ridch@hkmu.edu.hk. All emailed abstract submissions must include a completed submission form plus the abstract. The email’s subject line should be “RIDCH Symposium 2017 Abstract”. Please submit your abstracts by 28 November 2016 (Monday) for your abstracts to be included in the programme.
