Ina Ho Cantonese Opera Research Centre, HKMU will organise the Connect U-r Voices in Cantonese Opera: Joint-university Cantonese Opera Performance at 1:30 p.m. on 11 May 2024 (Saturday) at Jockey Club Grand Theatre, 3/F, The Jockey Club Institute of Healthcare (IOH), HKMU.
Connect U-r Voices in Cantonese Opera: Joint-university Cantonese Opera Performance is the first Cantonese opera singing performance organised by Ina Ho Cantonese Opera Research Centre since its official establishment. Ina Ho Cantonese Opera Research Centre is pleased to have invited staff members and students from various tertiary institutions in Hong Kong to collaborate in delivering this performance: it is jointly organised by Centre for Chinese Music Studies, CUHK, and Xiqu and Intangible Cultural Heritage Centre, EdUHK, aiming at promoting traditional Chinese opera culture and gathering together teachers and students from various universities who possess enthusiasm and experience in Cantonese opera to perform the popular traditional Cantonese opera pieces in different professional roles and styles.
