Details:
Members of the HKMU A&SS Toastmasters Club under the School of Arts and Social Sciences also delivered strong performance. In the Area H3 and H4 contests, Jason Mi Kung-chun was second runner-up in Table Topics, while Jevin Thapa was placed third in both Prepared Speech and Evaluation Speech.
In addition, the A&SS Toastmasters Club has achieved the Distinguished Club designation for the 2022–2023 programme year from Toastmasters International. This shows that club members have worked hard to meet the objectives of the Distinguished Club Program, offering a supportive and positive learning environment for each other in accordance with the Toastmasters International mission. The HKMU Trilingual Toastmasters Club has also attained this designation earlier.
Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organisation that trains public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. It organises speech contests every year to empower individuals to become effective communicators and leaders. District 89 covers Hong Kong, Macau, Fujian, Hainan and part of Guangdong, China.
