Bachelor of Social Sciences in Psychology Studies (BSSCPS) |
1. | To be eligible for the award of the degree of Bachelor of Social Sciences in Psychology Studies, a student shall: |
| a) | comply with the Regulations for Admission, Registration and Maintenance of Status; and |
| b) | comply with the Regulations for the Award of Undergraduate Degrees; and |
| c) | obtain at least 120 credits of which no more than 20 credits shall be obtained at Foundation level; and |
| d) | obtain at least 120 credits in courses prescribed by the regulations as appropriate to the degree for which notice has been given, including at least 20 credits in courses at Higher level; and |
| e) | successfully complete the prescribed programme of studies. |
2. | For the degree of Bachelor of Social Sciences in Psychology Studies*, the University has prescribed that a student must: |
| a) | successfully complete 20 credits from course(s) labelled FD in Table 1, i.e. |
| | 20 credits from SOSC A101 ; and |
| | OR |
| | 20 credits from SOSC A112C and SOSC A121C and SOSC A122C; and |
| b) | successfully complete 20 credits from course SOSC A313 or SOSC A313C (labelled FR in Table 1); and |
| c) | obtain at least 80 credits from core psychology courses (labelled PC in Table 1), of which must include PSYC A212/PSYC A212C and PSYC A318. |
| | * Of the 120 credits required for the attainment of the degree, students can complete up to 40 credits of courses in a language of instruction other than English. |

Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Psychology Studies (BSSCHPS) |
1. | To be eligible for the award of the degree of Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Psychology Studies, a student shall: |
| a) | comply with the Regulations for Admission, Registration and Maintenance of Status; and |
| b) | comply with the Regulations for the Award of Undergraduate Degrees; and |
| c) | obtain at least 160 credits, of which no more than 20 credits shall be obtained at Foundation level; and |
| d) | obtain at least 40 credits in courses at Higher level; and |
| e) | successfully complete the prescribed programme of studies. |
2. | For the degree of Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Psychology Studies*, the University has prescribed that a student must: |
| a) | successfully complete 20 credits from course(s) labelled FH in Table 1, i.e. |
| | 20 credits from SOSC A101 ; and |
| | OR |
| | 20 credits from SOSC A112C and SOSC A121C and SOSC A122C; and |
| b) | successfully complete 20 credits from course SOSC A313 or SOSC A313C (labelled FRH in Table 1); and |
| c) | successfully obtain 120 credits from core compulsory courses labelled PCH in Table 1, i.e. |
| | PSYC A209 or PSYC A215C; and |
| | PSYC A212 or PSYC A212C; and |
| | PSYC A303 or PSYC A309C; and |
| | PSYC A307 or PSYC A317C; and |
| | PSYC A226 and |
| | PSYC A227 and |
| | PSYC A318 and |
| | PSYC A319 |
| | * Of the 160 credits required for the attainment of the degree, students can complete up to 50 credits of courses in a language of instruction other than English. |
3. | Each degree with Honours shall be conferred with a classification of First Class, Second Class (Upper Division), Second Class (Lower Division) or Third Class save that exceptionally a degree may be conferred without classification. |
4. | Subject to the requirements of the relevant programme of study, each person on whom an Honours degree is to be conferred shall be assigned to a classification determined by the University according to its regulations. |
5. | For the calculation of scores for classification purposes in the degree of Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Psychology Studies, the University has deemed that “Group (a)” shall consist of the best 40 credits in courses at Higher level listed in Table 1, and that “Group (b)” shall consist of the best 40 credits in courses at Higher or Middle level listed in Table 1, where such credits are not taken into account in “Group (a)” . Further, that “X” shall equal one, that is “Group (a)” and “Group (b)” shall be equally weighted.
