The University and the School of Arts and Social Sciences (A&SS) administer a number of scholarships and programmes in support of the enrichment of co-curricular experiences of students.

FITS Volunteering Programme 

A&SS collaborates with Sibiu International Theatre Festival (FITS) and participates in the FITS Volunteering Programme.  FITS is one of the world's largest arts and performance festivals held in Romania every year.  Students nominated to join the FITS Volunteering Programme will receive training from the organizer and provide support in different departments to ensure the smooth running of the FITS.

Go Further Award 

The Go Further Award aims at supporting A&SS students in joining overseas study tours.   A study tour will be organized to different destinations each year, which focuses on cultural immersion and exchange. 

Muses Foundation Scholarships for Internships and Exchanges Outside Hong Kong 

The Muses Foundation Scholarships for Internships and Exchanges Outside Hong Kong aims to offer valuable opportunities for students to develop intercultural awareness and to provide immersion experiences in the media and art scene in selected countries for students in the Department of Creative Arts.  Applications will normally be called for in March every year.

Professor Mayching Kao Student Development Fund 

Established with the generous donation of Professor Mayching Kao (former Dean of A&SS), the Professor Mayching Kao Student Development Fund aims at supporting student development activities to achieve the following objectives:

  • Broadening students' exposure and intellectual horizon;
  • Strengthening students' commitment and peer support culture within their study programmes and across disciplines;
  • Enhancing students' abilityin appreciation of art and culture; and 
  • Benefiting students' career development. 

All A&SS full-time undergraduate students are eligible to apply.  

A briefing session will be held on 1 November 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Room C0818, HKMU Main Campus.
