Introduction

The Bachelor of Business Administration with Honours in Professional Accounting aims to develop students' professional competencies, and broadens their knowledge of accounting and related disciplines. Students will be introduced to financial accounting, management accounting, taxation, auditing, law and accounting information systems.

This programme is accredited by various professional bodies. It prepares students for a promising career in accounting and related areas.

A unique feature of this and other BBA programmes is the pioneering undergraduate global immersion programmes (UG-GIP), which is designed to support B&A students in developing their potential in the internationalized environment. UG-GIP aims to instill in students a deeper understanding of a foreign culture and its society and environment, and expose students to a broader overview and understanding of international business.

The programme is accredited by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Association of International Accountants (AIA), CPA Australia, and the Taxation Institute of Hong Kong (TIHK). Graduates are eligible to register with HKICPA’s Qualification Programme, claim maximum exemptions from examinations of ACCA, AIA and CPA Australia, and exemptions of two papers from the Certified Tax Adviser (CTA) Qualifying Examination.

Career Prospects

Graduates can seek employment as professional accountants, or pursue careers in related fields such as auditing, taxation and business advisory services.

Further Studies

Opportunities are available for the graduates of this programme to postgraduate studies in Hong Kong and abroad. Some students will continue to study for a Postgraduate Diploma or Master degree in accounting, while others may choose to study further in the fields of business administration, corporate governance, or management.
