Programme Information for New Students

Students entering distance learning programmes for the first time can register for courses with a total maximum registration value of 12 credit-units. For continuing students, the maximum registration value is 24 credit-units.

Before submitting the course registration, students should check the programme requirements of their study programme to ensure the courses they wish to select will be counted towards the award as fulfilling the graduation requirements. Students should also refer to the programme requirements regarding the credit-unit requirement for 1000-level, 3000-level and 4000-level courses in their entire programme of study. This includes all core course(s) and elective course(s).

While choosing an elective course, please check the lists of “Excluded Combination” and “Courses not to be taken again”. These lists provide information on courses that cannot be used towards a single award.

Programme Description

This programme helps students to develop an interdisciplinary perspective on the management of business organisations and build specialised knowledge and skills in marketing practice. On completion of this degree, students will be equipped with the necessary skills to apply marketing techniques and concepts in the workplace, along with having acquired a wide range of management skills.

Programme Intended Learning Outcomes (PILOs)

  1. Explain and critically review business theories and concepts to identify issues, analyse situations, and develop solutions for multi-faceted problems in organisational settings.
  2. Critically evaluate issues and make informed judgements in view of the organisation's strategies as well as ethical considerations.
  3. Reflect on new ways of thinking and make meaningful contributions as a leader and member in a team setting and communicate effectively.
  4. Command knowledge of the practices and activities of key aspects of marketing.
  5. Integrate and apply advanced analytical skills to address issues and make decisions related to marketing.
  6. Assimilate and synthesise new knowledge in different aspects of marketing, apply it to solve problems related to marketing, and develop practical recommendations.

Programme Structure

Students pursuing this programme must successfully complete at least 120 credit-units, of which no more than 30 credit-units shall be at 1000-level, at least 24 credit-units shall be at 3000-level and at least 24 credit-units shall be at 4000-level. Students are required to complete:

Students are required to complete 120 credit-units but they may opt to graduate with a lower qualification, Associate of Business [ABUS] (60 credit-units) after completing the required number of credit-units and fulfilling the requirements of the programme regulations.

Choosing the first courses to get started

Undergraduate students taking the BBAHMM programme in English are recommended to begin their BBAHMM studies with BUS 1000BED An Introduction to Business and Management.
