Biography
Ingrid Lai is an experienced educator with a strong background in Information & Technology in Education. She holds a Master of Science degree in this field from The University of Hong Kong. Prior to this, she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), which is ranked among the top public universities in the United States.
Ingrid has spent a significant portion of her career working in education and tertiary institutions. Her primary role has been teaching business communications and language. This teaching experience has equipped her with a broad understanding of different subject areas and the ability to engage with students from various backgrounds and learning styles.
Her research interests lie in the intersection of student engagment and technology, with a particular focus on Education Technology. She is passionate about exploring how technology can be used to enhance student engagement and create a sense of belonging.
One of her key research areas is Gamification, a technique that involves using game design elements in non-game contexts of education. She has a keen interest in how gamification can be used to motivate students and make learning more enjoyable and effective.
