Biography

Dr. James Xede is a Senior Lecturer in the Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration at Hong Kong Metropolitan University. He received both his Master’s and PhD in Management Science (Accounting) degrees from the Institute for Financial and Accounting Studies at Xiamen University, China, and a Bachelor of Commerce degree (accounting and finance) from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. His research interest is in the behavioural consequences of management control systems such as incentive design, performance management, and the motivational effects of nonmonetary rewards. He uses neuroscience, psychology, and economic theory and applies experiments and archival data analysis to test his empirical predictions. He also combines new insights and uses technologies from neuroscience to understand the neurobiological processes that underline managers’ decision-making behaviour.
