Biography
Dr. Timothy Olugbenga AKINWANDE is a seasoned researcher and an expert educator with more than 9 years of experience in the built environment sector. His PhD is in Real Estate Development from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He has over 8 years experience of lecturing in the department of Estate Management of the University of Lagos (Unilag), where he taught and mentored students in various courses related to Real estate. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the School of Business and Administration of Hong Kong Metropolitan University, where he lectures various courses related to Real Estate.
His core competencies include teaching, research, analytical, and valuation skills, as well as academic consultancy and community service. His mission is to contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals within the built environment, especially goal 11 for sustainable, resilient, and inclusive cities across the world. He is particularly interested in developing economies and promoting affordable housing provision. He has published multiple research articles on topical issues in real estate, and received several awards and scholarships for his academic excellence and distinction. He is a registered Estate surveyor in Nigeria, and a lead singer and songwriter with many great inspirational and motivational songs to his credit.

I volunteered alongside other students to carry out the valuation inspection and assessment of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital LUTH. Though challenging, it was an eye opening and educative experience for me.

I worked with this body to sensitize parents/guardians and students who were either interested in sponsoring their children/wards to study abroad or interested in studying abroad themselves.
