Biography
Thomas is a graduate of The University of Hong Kong, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He furthered his education by obtaining an MBA from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
With a career spanning over twenty years, Thomas has accumulated a wealth of experience and expertise across various industries. His professional journey has led him through sectors such as consumer products, education, technology, interactive gaming, and sports & entertainment.
Before joining Hong Kong Metropolitan University, Thomas served as the Senior Director of Brand Partnerships at the NBA, where he co-led a cross-functional team to devise and execute web3/metaverse strategy in Asia. His responsibilities also included overseeing gaming, entertainment products, and the digital assets business in the APAC region. He has a proven track record of identifying and leveraging emerging technologies and trends, generating new revenue streams, and enhancing fan engagement opportunities for the global sports league.
Prior to his role at the NBA, Thomas was a founding member of a tech start-up in Hong Kong, where he built and led the business and game publishing team there. This start-up has since evolved into one of the leading web3 companies globally and has achieved unicorn status.
