About ACY 8004BEF Advanced Taxation

The course covers in-depth knowledge of advanced topics in Hong Kong taxation, including taxation of special businesses, taxation of non-residents, anti-tax avoidance provisions, China tax and comprehensive double taxation agreements, as well as tax planning and management. You will acquire the skills to effectively interpret and apply tax statues and rules.
 
This course is compulsory for HKMU students registered in the Master of Accountancy (MACF) programme, but is also open for single-course enrolment of non-students (i.e. applicants not registered in any HKMU programme).
 
The course is recognised by CPA Australia as an elective subject for the CPA program. Therefore, upon completion of this course, students will be deemed to have completed an elective subject for the CPA program.

Important Notes:
Students applying ACY 8004BEF Advanced Taxation through single course enrolment are NOT eligible for the Continuing Education Fund (CEF) reimbursement. Only students studying the Master of Accountancy (MACF) programme and have taken ACY 8004BEF Advanced Taxation are eligible for the CEF fee reimbursement.

  3. Prepare the required documents according to the “Application Checklist” on page 6 of the form.
  4. Submit the completed application form and documents by 29 July 2024 (Monday) in person or by post to:

  1. Pay the tuition fee with two separate cheques in favour of “Hong Kong Metropolitan University”:
  • Cheque 1: HK$300 (application fee)
  • Cheque 2: HK$20,460 (course fee)

Important Notes to Applicants

  1. You must be a local resident of Hong Kong to apply for the course.
  2. Enrolment into the course is subject to the School's approval of the students' applications, availability of seats and the student's payment of the tuition fee. Seats in the class are on a first-come-first-served basis.
  3. Admitted students have access to HKMU resources including the Library, the Online Learning Environment (OLE), Student Email System and more.
  4. Upon completion of the course, you will receive a letter certifying your enrolment at the HKMU.
  5. Your enrolment in this course does not represent admission to the Master of Accountancy programme (MACF) offered by the Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration, nor the successful completion of this course represents fulfilment of the entry requirements of the MACF.
  6. The admission to the MACF requires the completion of the admission procedure according to the rules and regulations stipulated by Hong Kong Metropolitan University. If you would like to use the credit gained from this single course enrolment to satisfy one or more of the course requirements in a programme, an advanced standing application may be needed.
  7. Students applying ACY 8004BEF Advanced Taxation through single course enrolment are NOT eligible for the Continuing Education Fund (CEF) reimbursement.
