OUHK Graduation Show Displays Creative Works of Students

About 100 pieces of creative works by over 200 students of the Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) will be showcased at their annual Graduation Show, which runs from today until 25 June.

Jointly organized by the graduating students of the four Creative Arts programmes, the theme of the Graduation Show this year is “PLUS_“. While the word “PLUS” signifies their ambition in adding colour and vitality to the community through arts, the symbol underscore “_” implies continuity. In other words, graduation is not the end but the beginning of a brand new chapter in life.

Prof. Wong said that many students from the OUHK's Creative Arts programmes have bagged prestigious local and international awards over the past few years. “Everyone at the University is thrilled with the students' achievements which have demonstrated their creativity, talents and efforts. One outstanding example is the three graduates from the 2017 Animation and Visual Effects programme who have won the 54th Golden Horse Awards for Best Animated Short Film with their final year project Losing Sight of a Longed Place. This is an exceptional achievement which shows professional recognition of our students' work from experts in the industry,” Prof. Wong added. He encouraged the students to always keep up their creative spirit and motivation even after graduation.
