Programme description

This programme, for which there are no entry requirements, provides the opportunity for students to construct their own programme of study within the framework of the HKMU degree/sub-degree regulations.

The aims of the programme are:

  1. to provide a flexible qualification at degree level which meets the general demands of the Hong Kong workforce;
  2. to provide opportunities for intellectual development for adult students wishing to graduate with a general qualification;
  3. to provide an opportunity for mature students to define their own programme of study.

Programme requirements

Students pursuing the award of Associate of General Studies must successfully complete at least 80 credits in courses at Pre-Foundation, Foundation, Middle or Higher level from any Schools, of which at least 40 credits must be obtained at Middle or Higher level, and no more than 10 credits of which may be obtained at Pre-foundation level.

AGS can serve as an early exit point for some programmes in other Schools. Students may opt to graduate with AGS after completing the required number of credits and fulfilling the the requirements of the programme regulations.
