Year 1 Entry
- JUPAS
The university general entrance requirement of 3-3-2-2-2 is applicable. - Non-JUPAS
Applicants with local academic qualifications other than HKDSE:
– Complete Year 1 study of a recognized Associate Degree or Higher Diploma programme; or
– Obtain Grade E or above in AS Chinese Language & Culture and Use of English, and 2 AL/ 1 AL plus 2 AS/ 4 AS subjects in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (or equivalent); and
– Satisfactory performance in the admission interview
Students will have the chance to participate in a wide range of exchange and immersion programmes at E&L.
*Financial support from QEM Fund will be provided. The amount of support each participant will receive depends on the fund available and the size of participants in that particular year.
Students may also apply for other scholarships, such as, Reaching Out Award (EDB) and Scheme for Subsidy on Exchange.
English Language and Culture Immersion Programme
(Warwick Immersion Programme)
Destination: University of Warwick, Coventry, UK
Duration: 3 weeks during late May to mid June
Description: Warwick Immersion Programme is a stimulating and enjoyable programme. Participants stay in homestays, attend seminars and workshops, and pay visits to famous sites such as the birthplace of Shakespeare.
Japan Cultural Immersion Programme
Destination: Toyo University, Tokyo, Japan
Duration: 2 weeks in early June
Description: The 2-week programme aims at giving students a taste of Japanese culture, education system and Japanese university life. It includes lectures, field trips and homestay at rural areas.
UBC Summer Study Tour
Destination: University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada
Duration: 4 weeks either between June and July or between July and August
Description: It is a 4-week academic programme offered by various faculties at UBC. Students can choose courses related to their studies or courses outside their discipline of studies.
Students, who fulfilled the stipulated requirements set by EDB, are eligible for the Non-means-tested Subsidy Scheme for Self-financing Undergraduate Studies in Hong Kong (NMTSS) provided by the HKSAR Government. For details of the scheme and eligibility, please visit https://www.cspe.edu.hk/nmtss.
The University offers entrance scholarship to outstanding new students without requiring them to apply. Successful students may be awarded again in subsequent years of study, subject to outstanding performance at HKMU.

As a double degree student, it is better to be diligent. Learning in the first year is relatively easy, although some knowledge concept takes time to master. Teachers are willing to answer any academic questions as long as I am not afraid to ask. Remember, don’t be afraid to ask your teacher questions!
