HKMU receives a donation from China Resources Group to establish the “China Resources Corporate Governance Scholarship”

Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) recently signed a donation agreement with China Resources Charitable Fund Limited (CRCF) to establish the “China Resources Corporate Governance Scholarship”, which will offer up to 10 scholarships in each of the five academic years from 2023/24 to 2027/28. The scholarships recognise outstanding postgraduate students who have excelled in the HKMU Master of Corporate Governance and Compliance programme and encourage them to pursue a career in corporate governance and company secretarial roles.

The signing ceremony was held on 22 August and officiated by China Resources Group Chairman Wang Xiangming, First-Level Inspector of the Department of Educational, Scientific and Technological Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government (LOCPG) in the HKSAR Liu Maozhou, Permanent Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs of the HKSAR Government Shirley Lam Shuet-lai, Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of the HKSAR Government Joseph Chan Ho-lim, and China Resources Group Vice General Manager Lan Yi.

The donation agreement was signed by HKMU Vice President (Resources and Development) Prof. Lui Yu-hon and CRCF Director Song Guibin and witnessed by the officiating guest.

The Scholarship arrangement was driven by China Resources Group and jointly initiated by China Resources Corporate Service Limited, CRCF and The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute. Its aim is to benefit postgraduate students in corporate governance at HKMU and three other local universities. In addition to scholarships, internship and career development opportunities will be provided to nurture a new generation of governance professionals for Hong Kong.
