Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) launched its ChatGPT Web Portal with the GPT-4.0 model in August 2023 for staff and September 2023 for students. The portal is designed to support various aspects of teaching, learning, research, and university operations.
In October 2024, the portal was upgraded to the ChatGPT-4o model for all users to enhance the overall user experience.
In April 2025, the portal received major upgrades, including image generation, file processing, audio transcription and model switching between GPT-4o and GPT-4o mini. These features make the portal more dynamic and intuitive for administrative and creative tasks.
Staff and students are encouraged to utilize the portal to enhance their academic pursuits and streamline their daily tasks.
