Adverse Weather Arrangements

The Library will make the following arrangements when Pre-No. 8 Special Announcement / Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above / Black Rainstorm Warning / Extreme Conditions Announcement is issued or lowered.

Pre-No. 8 Special Announcement

Time of Issuing	Campus libraries will
Issued before opening hours	Not open.
Issued during opening hours	Start closing procedures and will close after all library users have left the libraries.

Typhoon Signal No. 8 or Above / Extreme Conditions Announcement

Time of Issuing/Lowering	Campus libraries will
Issued before opening hours	Not open.
Issued during opening hours	Start closing procedures and will close after all library users have left the libraries.
Lowered before/at 1 pm	Open within 2 hours (if situation allows).
Lowered after 1 pm	Open at 6 pm (if situation allows).
Lowered after 4 pm	Remain closed.

Black Rainstorm Warning

Time of Issuing/Lowering	Campus libraries will
Issued before opening hours	Not open.
Issued during opening hours	Remain open. The campus libraries will close at 6 pm if the signal is still in force at 4 pm.
Lowered before/at 1 pm	Open within 2 hours (if situation allows).
Lowered after 1 pm	Open at 6 pm (if situation allows).
Lowered after 4 pm	Remain closed.

Remarks

The campus libraries will normally remain open as scheduled when Typhoon Signal No. 3 or below / Red or Amber Rainstorm Signal is in force.
