Description

Notion is a productivity and note-taking web application developed by Notion Labs, Inc. It is an online organizational tool on many different operating systems, with options for both free and paid subscriptions. It is based in San Francisco, California, United States.  

Notion is a collaboration platform with Markdown and includes kanban boards, tasks, wikis, and databases. It is a workspace for notetaking, knowledge, and data management, as well as project and task management. It has file management in a single workspace, allowing users to comment on ongoing projects, participate in discussions, and receive feedback. It can be accessed by cross-platform apps and by most web browsers. 

How to use

There are editing three tools to familiarize yourself with to create any page you want. 

+ icon: Appears in the left margin whenever you hover over a new line. Click it to open a menu of content types you can add to your page. 

 

Database  

To create a database in Notion, open a new or existing Notion page and type / followed by the type of database view you would like to start with, like table or board.

 

Find Notion AI  

Notion AI is always ready to help, no matter where you are in your workspace. Here is how you can easily connect with it: 

  • Look for the circular icon with a face in the bottom-right corner of your Notion page to access AI knowledge right alongside the rest of your work.
  • Access Notion AI from the left sidebar under “Search.” This automatically expands into a full-page view. Great for brainstorming ideas or crafting a first draft. 

 

Import data to notion 

Notion lets you directly import the following file types: 

  • Plaintext (.txt) 
  • Markdown (.md or. markdown) 
  • Microsoft Word (.docx) 
  • CSV (.csv) 
  • HTML (.html) 
  • PDF (.pdf) 

You can also import data from apps like Confluence, Asana, Evernote, and Trello. 

There are a few ways you can import data: 

  • Type / and type the content you want to import – like csv or Trello. 
  • Go to Settings & members in your sidebar, then select Import. This will create a window where you can choose which app or file type to import from.
