HSBC Scholarships

The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) has a long history of supporting HKMU students through bursaries and scholarships. Currently, eligible HKMU students have a chance to be awarded the HSBC Hong Kong Scholarship, HSBC Vocational Education Scholarship, HSBC Overseas Scholarship, HSBC Greater Bay Area (Hong Kong) Scholarship, and Innovation and Technology Scholarship.

Who’s Eligible?

Applicants should be full-time local Sub-degree or Bachelor's degree students.

Types of Scholarship:

HSBC provides the following scholarships for HKMU students, namely:
1. HSBC Hong Kong Scholarship (for Bachelor’s degree students)
2. HSBC Vocational Education Scholarship (for sub-degree students)
3. HSBC Overseas Scholarship (for Bachelor’s degree students)
4. HSBC Greater Bay Area (Hong Kong) Scholarship (for Bachelor’s degree students)
5. Innovation and Technology Scholarship (jointly supported and sponsored by the Innovation and Technology Commission and HSBC, organised by The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups) (for Bachelor’s degree students)

How to Apply?

Applicants should submit the online application form together with supporting documents to SAO during the application period.
Please read the respective “Guidance Notes” before completing the online application via the student portal “MyHKMU”.

Applicants who are successful in the internal interview should find a faculty member to provide supplementary information (e.g. reference letter, personal qualities not captured by the application form, any special learning needs, family background, etc.) if necessary.

HSBC Hong Kong Scholarship: 20 November 2024 to 15 December 2024 (Sunday)
HSBC Vocational Education Scholarship: 20 November 2024 to 15 December 2024 (Sunday)
HSBC Overseas Scholarship: 15 November 2024 to 08 December 2024 (Sunday)
HSBC Greater Bay Area (Hong Kong) Scholarship: 20 November 2024 to 15 December 2024 (Sunday)
Innovation and Technology Scholarship: 18 November 2024 to 08 December 2024 (Sunday)

Notification of Result

The internal nomination result will be announced (via e-mail) in February 2025. Final results and payment arrangement will be announced in June 2025.
