Non-local students – Notes to Work in HK (NOL / IANG)

Student Affairs Office Career and Internships Career Resources Corner Non-local students – Notes to Work in HK (NOL / IANG)

1) Non-local students who wish to work part time / summer job during their study period in Hong Kong

Update: Student work restrictions lifted
The Government has temporarily exempted full-time non-local undergraduate and postgraduate students from the restrictions on taking up part-time jobs with a view to enhancing your personal exposure and knowledge for working in Hong Kong to incentivise you to stay in Hong Kong for development after graduation.
Eligible non-local undergraduate and postgraduate students will be issued an updated “No Objection Letter” (NOL) upon approval of entry or extension of stay applications that allows you to take up any employments during your programme of study.

2) Non-local students who wish to stay in Hong Kong for employment after study period

Your student visa specifies the period you can stay in Hong Kong for completing your study programme as approved by the Immigration Department.  If you want to extend your stay for your graduate employment in Hong Kong, you have to apply for the “Immigration Arrangement for Non-local Graduates” (IANG).  For details, please visit the Immigration Department webpage at https://www.immd.gov.hk/eng/services/visas/IANG.html
