Student Affairs Office Career and Internships HKMU Dream Builder Scheme

HKMU Dream Builder Scheme 2024/25

“Are you ready to dive into your dreams and career interests?”

“Are you keen to gain valuable work experience before you graduate?”

“Are you outgoing, motivated, and enthusiastic about making connections and exploring exciting career opportunities?”

“Would you like to obtain a HK$5,000 'Career Development Award' through the Scheme?”

If so, you could be the perfect fit for our brand-new HKMU Dream Builder Scheme!

This scheme aims to groom and prepare full-time undergraduate students for the corporate world. It is finely crafted to enhance knowledge through various activities that align with the demands of the workplace environment. By assisting students in identifying their career interests and exploring potential career options, while equipping them with essential skills and knowledge, the scheme empowers students to navigate their career journeys with confidence and successfully transition from academia to the workplace.
After a series of intensive training sessions, we encourage students to take the initiative in their job search and actively seek out internships independently. By doing so, they not only gain valuable experience but also demonstrate their commitment to personal growth. To recognise this proactive approach, students who successfully secure physical internships on their own during the summer of 2025 will receive a “Career Development Award.” (The internship positions should not be part of any internship programme or scheme offered by SAO or the University.) This award acknowledges their efforts and serves as an incentive for them to take charge of their career journeys, ultimately enhancing their confidence and employability as they transition from university to the workplace.
  • Foster self-awareness and understanding of personal strengths, interests, and goals of the participants
  • Enhance participants' essential employability skills, including communication, problem-solving, personal branding, presentation techniques, and business and social etiquette.
  • Empower the participants to navigate their career journeys with confidence and successfully transition from academia to the workplace.
