Student Affairs Office Service-Learning Development Programmes Mip (Make it Possible) : Plant with Elderly

Mip (Make it Possible)

WHO recently described the harms of loneliness as same as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. Are you aware of the number of elderly individuals experiencing loneliness in Hong Kong? A recent report shows that the average loneliness score among 162 elderly is 9.2 (8.0 defined as severe loneliness). We, Mip (Make it Possible), aim to raise awareness of elderly’s mental health and reduce caregivers’ stress via regular home visit and activities.

Significant Impact:

“MiP (Make it Possible)” aimed to raise awareness about elderly loneliness and caregiver stress in the community. Through collaborative activities, including a planting session, home visits distributing plants and resources, and an information booth on caregiving, they sought to encourage connections between young and elderly.
