Student Affairs Office Service-Learning HKMU Service Alliance

HKMU Student Affairs Office (SAO) is recruiting members of “HKMU Service Alliance”, aiming to connect full-time undergraduate students who wish to create positive changes in the community through Service-Learning experiences and volunteer activities.

We offer a broad spectrum of experiential learning experiences for Service Alliance members to unleash their potentials, make changes in the community and influence others. Join us now to get the first-hand service information, training opportunities and priority admission to relevant activities.

Members of the Service Alliance will receive monthly e-newsletters to stay tuned for HKMU Service-Learning opportunities. (Past e-newsletters)

Members who had registered and completed Service-Learning or voluntary experiences at our partner NGOs' platforms below for more than 20 or 50 hours throughout the year, will also receive a certificate as recognition of active participation in community service.

Privileges
  • Receive latest news and updates of HKMU community service, training, workshop opportunities and priority admission
  • Attend free training workshops to equip yourself with skills and knowledge to make positive impact
  • Get a certificate of appreciation upon completion of 20 or 50 hours of volunteer work or provide community services under HKMU SAO Service-Learning programmes (service hours will be accumulated up to 31 Aug of each year)
  • Proactive and outstanding members will be nominated for relevant service awards and qualifications (i.e. being nominated as the “Outstanding Service Awards for Tertiary Students” or offered with NGO placement opportunity)

Service-Learning Programmes

Service-Learning integrates meaningful community service with academic study and reflections to enrich students' learning experience. Service themes include art, history, life education, environmental protection, elderly service, mental health, visually impaired, etc.

The hours of service of service-learning activities will also be counted in the programme.

Community Service / Volunteer Opportunity 

SAO provides diverse external volunteer activities for students to get involved and make a difference to the community. By registering with HKMU student email, your service hours in the following four platforms will be accumulated and recorded in HKMU Service Alliance database, a certificate will be issued for those who had completed 20 hours/50 hours of volunteer work (up to 31 Aug of each year):

Training Schedule

A series of trainings were offered to Service Alliance members to enhance their knowledge and service skills.  All training programmes were conducted by qualified and experienced NGO staff and volunteer trainers.
