Life Education Ambassador Programme 2024/2025

Student Affairs Office Service-Learning Life Education Ambassador Programme 2024/2025

Life Education Ambassador Programme 2024/2025

In recent years, Hong Kong has seen a concerning rise in its suicide rate, reaching 14.5 in 2022 – significantly higher than the international average of 9.0. This alarming trend underscores the pivotal role of life education initiatives.

To address this issue, the Student Affairs Office is organizing the “Life Education Ambassador Programme 2024/2025.” The programme aims to train students to become life education ambassadors through a series of training and service-learning experiences. These ambassadors will then promote a positive outlook on cherishing and respecting life to the public.

The programme themes are centered on the different stages of life: “Birth,” “Aging,” “Illness,” and “Death.” This approach allows the ambassadors to engage in meaningful discussions on life issues with secondary school students, visit and take portraits for the elderly in care homes, support patients and their families in hospitals, and embark on a life and death exploration trip to Taiwan to reflect and learn. Finally, the ambassadors will share the programme outcomes with the public, helping to raise awareness and foster a greater appreciation for the value of life.
