林群声教授

林群声教授为香港都会大学校长及环境化学讲座教授。

 

林教授于1979至1984年就读于香港大学,取得学士及硕士学位;并于1984年获英联邦奖学金赴英国深造,在谢菲尔德大学修读博士学位。及后林教授于伦敦大学国王学院从事博士后研究,并于1988年加入香港城市理工学院担任讲师一职。其后,他在多所大学工作,包括香港中文大学 (1990-1992) 和澳洲维多利亚科技大学 (1992-1994)。他在1994年再次回到香港城市大学化学系 (前生物及化学系) 工作。

 

林教授是香港高等教育界的先驱,在学术发展及大学行政管理方面具丰富经验。加入都大前,林教授为香港城市大学特别项目总监,并身兼胡梁子慧教授 (理学) 及化学系讲座教授。自1994年起,他在城大先后担任其他要职,包括署理副校长 (本科教育)、副校长 (学生事务)、秘书长及海洋污染国家重点实验室主任。

 

身为环境化学、生态毒理学,以及环境风险评估领域的杰出学者及专家,林教授的学术成就超卓,他在生态学和环境评估的研究成果尤其突出,提升了公众的保护环境意识。他亦开发了一系列新兴污染物的超灵敏检测分析方法;其中,针对关键环境基质中的新兴污染物的痕量分析技术,为协调国际的分析方法作出贡献。其关于新兴污染物的全球分布与环境持久性的研究成果,也影响了世界上很多地方的相关政策与立法。

 

林教授在国际学术期刊以作者或共同作者的身份发表超过400篇文章,主持超过35项环境相关的政府顾问项目,包括有毒污染物对本港鲸豚和水鸟的风险评估。他先后于2011年、2012年及2019年三度获国家教育部颁发自然科学奖 (二等奖)。

 

参与公共事务方面,林教授现时担任认可咨询委员会主席、大屿山发展咨询委员会委员、创新及科技局「杰出创科学人计划」会员及土地共享先导计划─顾问小组会员。他曾任环境咨询委员会主席 (2010-2016),并分别于 2008 年及 2014 年获香港特别行政区政府颁授太平绅士及银紫荆星章。
