Tin Ka Ping
HKMU has received a generous donation of HK$4 million from Tin Ka Ping Foundation to continue supporting the “Tin Ka Ping Foundation Bursary” for inmates pursuing further education. The donation will also promote the future development of the “Tin Ka Ping Centre of Chinese Culture”.
Opening Ceremony of HKMU Museum of Modern Chinese Literature
The HKMU Museum of Modern Chinese Literature and its inaugural exhibition, “Beyond Distance: Half a Lifelong Friendship of Eileen Chang, Stephen Soong, and Mae Fong Soong”, have officially opened! Showcasing over 120 precious items from renowned Chinese writer Eileen Chang and her close friends, Stephen Soong and Mae Fong Soong, the museum is now open to the public by appointment, free of charge.

HKMU recently hosted “HKMU InfoDay 2025”, welcoming nearly 2,000 students, parents, and teachers to explore the University's offerings through seminars, consultation booths, and tours of laboratories and other facilities. In the 2026/27 academic year, HKMU will launch two new programmes: a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Diagnostic Radiography and a Bachelor of Applied Science with Honours in Robotics and Automation Engineering, aimed at cultivating talent with specialised expertise and professional skills. Additionally, a new “Minor in Global Studies” will be introduced to enrich students' global experiences.
QS Asia University Ranking
HKMU made its debut in the QS World University Rankings 2026 earlier in June, ranking in the 781–790 range. This marked a first for Hong Kong's self-financing institutions and UAS. Furthermore, HKMU has advanced by over 100 places for the second consecutive year in the latest QS Asia University Rankings 2026, now ranked among Asia's top 400 universities, rising to 393rd position, a significant leap of over 140 places compared to the previous year.
Sixteen HKMU scholars recognised among the world's top 2% most-cited scientists
Sixteen scholars from HKMU have been listed in Stanford University's recently announced “World's Top 2% Most-Cited Scientists”. This underscores the strong recognition of HKMU scholars in the global academic community and the significant impact of their research achievements.
