Christmas Busking (9 December 2022)

The School of Open Learning presented its first "Christmas Busking”. Its staff teamed up with its distance-learning and part-time student volunteer team, “V-Power”, to sing Christmas songs to celebrate and send blessings to students. Christmas gifts were distributed to students who attended it.

Mindfulness and Stress Reduction Workshop (2 December 2022)

The School of Open Learning organized a workshop on mindfulness and stress reduction on 2 December 2022. The workshop was delivered by Ms Lo Sau Kuen, Senior Lecturer, School of Nursing and Health Studies. It aimed to help distance-learning and part-time students counteract stress and anxiety in their hectic lives as well as to develop a stronger sense of wellbeing and self-care through basic mindfulness exercises.

Academic Referencing Workshop (21 & 28 Oct 2022)

Orientation for New Distance-Learning Students (20, 21, and 22 August and 9 September 2022)

Four sessions of new student orientation were held on 20, 21, and 22 August and 9 September, with the last one for new students who had registered late. Information such as accessible teaching and learning resources, DL study cycle, programme structure, course registration, learning support and student activities were covered in the orientation sessions. This was the first time that the University had organized orientation sessions for all new DL students at University level.
