To assist distance learning and part-time students in mastering academic referencing skills, learning common referencing styles and avoiding pitfalls, two sessions of Academic Referencing Workshop, one in Cantonese and the other in English were organized and delivered by Dr. Li Kam Cheong, Dean of the School of Open Learning. The workshop in Cantonese was delivered on 28 March 2022 and an English version was conducted on 7 April 2022.

Making use of the opportunity that distance-learning students' coming to the campus for examinations in January 2022, the School of Open Learning set up a Cheering Station in the communal area at Level 0 of Block C of Homantin Main Campus in the evenings on 13, 17, 19 and 20 January 2022 to get in touch with students and introduce the School to them. Leaflets of the School and souvenirs were distributed to students.
